Short Story: The Borrowed Daughter
Hilda, who has three sons but no daughter 'borrows' Evie by having her regularly at her home: baking, reading and gathering flowers together. But she also introduces her to Judaism. Why is she doing this and why isn't Evie's mother, who is Jewish, teaching her daughter herself? Will Evie's covert Jewish education influence her life and how?
